Nana

I am Audrey's nana. I have wondered what I would be called ever since my granddaughter was born 8 months ago. Yesterday as we were on the phone listening to Audrey vocalize, she shifted from "Mom, Mom, mom" sounds to "Nanananananana." I saw my opportunity to beat out Grandpa. If I adopted "Nana" as my preferred moniker, then Audrey was already saying my name. I was there first after she was born. I'm there first again. I am Nana.

Testing

Just testing. . .
I decided to test out having a blog. My children are embarrassed. Their mother is technically retarded and the least computer literate person in the family, including Quinn. However, I can use a template. Perhaps this will be my computer age journal/personal history. I have failed to keep a paper one successfully.

I have many thoughts. Ususally nobody in the family wants to listen to them, so I can write them down here and pretend somebody is interested in listening to me. Even Dave, who used to listen to me, is too tired and too busy to pay attention anymore. When I do share my random thoughts, he just falls asleep and snores in response. Being a bishop's widow can be lonely.

It's interesting that these children who won't listen to me keep coming by to lean over my shoulder and comment on what I'm writing. So conclused my initial blog entry. . . just testing.
